Bug Man Martin Rapley FRES FBNA
Wildlife and Science Presenter Fellow of The Royal Entomological
SocietyFellow of the British Naturalists' Association
Martin was Education Officer for Essex Wildlife Trust where he developed
an exciting programme of environmental education activity days for schools. This programme was initially developed for school
visits to Fingringhoe Wick, a coastal nature reserve and visitor centre near Colchester in Essex, but was soon taken
up by staff at centres throughout the county.
Martin also created Wildlife
Discovery Days. These were wild, exciting, fun days for children during school holidays and weekends. He ran an extensive programme covering all school holidays and most weekends.
The activity days for schools and Wildlife Discovery Days were a great success and Martin taught
over 5000 children each year on school visits and another 1800 children during school holidays and weekends.
After fifteen years in this post he left to
launch his own business presenting science shows in schools and events. He has now developed a range of science
shows which he presents to around 50,000 children in schools and another 30,000 children and adults at events each year. Martin is known as The
Bug Man as he presents The Big Bug Experience but as you can see from this site,
he presents other shows that feature reptiles. amphibians, mammals and more.
